Think you know how to apply your retinol? Compare your tips to ours with this step-by-step retinol guide. Using any retinol, retinoid or retinol cream the right way is important–if you use too much product you can actually irritate your skin and cause more damage. That’s why we recommend using a pea-sized amount. You only want to wear retinoids in the evening because they make your skin more sensitive to the sun. And that’s why it’s important to always wear at least an SPF 30 every morning to protect your skin.

  1. Is it normal for the serum to get in your eyes sometimes when I apply retinol I notice my eyes burn Cos the serum seeps thru

  2. Hello, but I read an article which says people should never apply retinol or any cream containing retinol or vitamin A to the eye or around the eye area, the skin there is thin and can absorb the retinol faster into the meibomian glands that secretes oil, tears and mucus for eye lubrication. Retinol promotes cell death and this is not good for the meibomian glands. If the glands stop producing lubricants for your eyes you could suffer the dry eye syndrome. Symptoms include:
-A feeling of sand in your eyes.
    -Eye burn
-Eye pain when you look at light.
If not treated, dry eye can cause tearing away or scratching of the Cornea ( just like a glass covering the pupil), and once the cornea is scratched, permanent blurry vision sets in, and if the cornea wears off, the pupil and lens are exposed to infections which can lead to blindness. If you have any symptoms of dry eyes whether retinol is applied close to your eyes or not, discontinue usage and seek medical help, continuous usage will always irritate the eye and put you at risk of corneal diseases.

  3. Just some constructive criticism, you kind of talk about the same stuff in every video, mabye just mention the technique and refer to another video where the technique was explained in depth rather than explaining it again in every video.

  4. pea size ? i feel like a pea size will disolve as soon as it touch my skin. ?? someone has a feedback

  5. Retinol should only be applied to dry skin at night. I moisturize a good 2-3 hours before I apply a retinol. Apply retinol to dry skin is better to reduce irritation (and I learned this from a dermatologist I try & let people know when they should use retinol for maximum results but with less irritation.)

  6. Thanks for the demonstration. Can I use retin a cream in winter months please?if yes!!!how often should I use in a month?and for how many hours should I leave before washing? Thanks once again.
